TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR E-MAIL DELIVERY
Reverse DNS
The reverse DNS is a resource that allow others servers to verify the authenticity of your sever, by verifying if the actual IP address matches with the IP address informed by de DNS server. This verification avoid that someone uses a domain that doesn’t belong to him for mailing spam.
Anyone can send e-mails by entering in the sender field the server of your domain, but one server configured to verify the reverse DNS will find out the fake and classify the forged e-mails as spam.
Servers configured to verify the reverse DNS will refuse e-mails, or classify them as spam in case of the DNS server isn’t correctly configured to answer to the reverse DNS verifications.
Actually we arrived to a point that the spam problem is so severe, that almost all the servers do this checking, without the proper configuration, approximately half of your e-mails won’t be delivered.
You must request your provider to configure the reverse DNS of your domain.
